Professional Development
Delaware County Community College provides many paths to enhance an individual’s professional development both in and out of the classroom. Here is a sampling of the opportunities afforded you through The Virginia M. Carter Center for Excellence.
Professional Development Sessions
Looking for information about the latest technology and its use in the classroom, instructional design, or classroom management techniques? Contact the Center to arrange for an individual session or look for scheduled training — we can help you grow professionally!
In-Service Opportunities
All in-service professional development workshops are open to all College employees, full- and part-time. Please see the specific in-service schedules on delaGATE; they are issued in August, October, January, and February.
Faculty Fellows
An integral part of professional development is a faculty member’s individual understanding of the various roles he or she assumes within the institution; these interests and assumed responsibilities often extend outside the classroom. If you are interested in working on a specific institutional project or are interested in assuming some responsibilities that may be more administrative in nature, Faculty Fellows may be a great choice for you!
Faculty Fellowship program was developed in support of continuous professional development and life-long learning. It affords faculty fellows professional development opportunities in administration, such as program assessment, college-wide diversity training, and service learning, that align with priorities impacting faculty and students success.
