Artist Statement
Throughout my two years of being a student at the College, I’ve grown to love painting all the more and, specifically, have been drawn to work with interesting viewpoints and intriguing color. This body of work incorporates these characteristics and was inspired by a 3D geometric paper form I built last semester. I paint by observing this form from many different angles. While my work is based on observation, the colors and texture are pulled from my head. I use my knowledge of color and rhythm to create a body of work that is inviting. While my artwork is abstract, there is a realistic quality of light in each piece that brings the two dimensional forms to life. I hope my paintings create a fun atmosphere that the viewer hasn’t seen before.
