GOAL | $5 MILLION
The largest priority and the greatest need of our Campaign is “finishing” the Southeast Center with furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies. The College broke ground on the new center in May 2023.
Located in the heart of Delaware County, near Upper Darby High School, the College’s largest feeder school, the site of the former Archbishop Prendergast High School will be transformed into a dynamic, full-service, technology-enabled location. This property is adjacent to the Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School, which is a proud supporter of our project.
DCCC strategically selected this site to meet the educational and training needs of the community. The Southeast Center will be a vibrant hub—providing equitable access to credit and non-credit classes, community programs, and other resources that will empower students to achieve success. The Center will provide training in high-priority occupations, such as culinary arts, skilled trades, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, biomedical technology, and early childhood education.
Key Project Outcomes:
- The existing 118,000 square foot building will be renovated for classes and services, including comprehensive student advising and counseling support; learning commons with library, writing, and tutoring services; cafeteria and outdoor dining area; and student resource and food pantry.
- A workforce annex will provide an addition 30,000 square feet that will promote biotechnology, electronics, and other innovative career and technical education.
- A 17,000 square foot Early Childhood Learning Center that will provide affordable childcare and Early Childhood Education programming, ensuring more families can access these critical services.
- The Hospitality and Culinary Arts Programs will operate out of our own facility for the first time in DCCC’s history and feature state-of-the-art kitchens, allowing us to serve more students and meet the growing demand for skilled workers in these fields.
