Diversity at the College
The College's Institutional Diversity Committee has been a long-standing committee with origins rooted in recognizing and addressing racism at the College. Since its inception, the IDC has been responsible for countless projects and initiatives that honor and uplift diversity of all kinds.
The IDC is composed of four subcommittees, each with a specific mission and set of goals.
Employee Recruitment and Inclusion Subcommittee: Serve in a collaborative capacity in support of the College's larger strategic diversity and inclusion goals with specific focus on talent acquisition and cultural engagement at the College.
Diversity Programming and Events Subcommittee: Provide a comprehensive, balanced and engaging yearly programming calendar for the campus community for the purpose of increasing awareness, cultural competency skills and personal enrichment.
Research and Education Subcommittee: Observe and analyze trends, current events and approaches to diversity and inclusion in higher education and communicate them to college constituencies by providing tools and resources that drive individual and institutional change.
Student Experience and Retention Subcommittee: Support the College’s effort to recruit, retain and empower a diverse student body (with special attention to underrepresented groups) through programming, policy and process evaluation, professional development and student advocacy.
