Christina Fackenthall, Studio Art
Artist Statement
In my work, I love to experiment with color. One of my biggest inspirations is Wayne Thiebaud. His art inspires me to play with heavy pigments and reflective surfaces. In addition, I seek out subjects that require a lot of detail. The more detail, the more the piece can come to life. Working from observation, I use lighting to capture exaggerated colors in order to make an interesting composition. In my acrylic paintings, I like to compose light, fun, exuberant pieces that evoke a happy and playful feel.
