SpectiCast Series Presents Pianist Martha Argerich Performing Works by Robert Schumann

(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—Delaware County Community College’s fall 2012 SpectiCast series continues with the North American premiere broadcast of pianist Martha Argerich performing works by Robert Schumann on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. The performance will be shown in the STEM Auditorium, Room 1403 on the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Now in its third year, the College’s SpectiCast series brings the classical realm of music, dance and opera closer to home for residents of Delaware and Chester Counties. Each performance is produced in real time using a state-of-the-art audiovisual system and is choreographed to capture the fullness of the orchestral performance and the intimacy of the on-stage experience.
Conducted by Riccardo Chailly, the performance features Argerich along with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. The repertoire includes Concerto for piano and orchestra, op.54; Von fremden Ländern und Menschen from Kinderszenen, Op. 15; Symphony No. 4; Adagio and Allegro brillante from Symphonic Etudes; and Carnaval, Op. 9.
