Music and Opera Performances Broadcast in HD
(Delaware/Chester Counties, PA)—Delaware County Community College’s SpectiCast series continues with a “live” simulcast of the Europa Konzert from Napoli on Sunday, January 29 at 2 PM. The performance will be broadcast in HD and held in the STEM Center Auditorium Room 1403 at the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
Now in its second year, the College’s SpectiCast series brings the classical realm of music, dance and opera closer to home for residents of Delaware and Chester Counties. Each concert is produced in real time using a state-of-the-art audiovisual system and is choreographed to capture the fullness of the orchestral performance and the intimacy of the on-stage experience.
Starring the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Europa Konzert from Napoli features mezzo-soprano Violeta Urmana and is conducted by Riccardo Muti. The repertoire includes Giuseppe Verdi’s La Forza del Destino, Overture, Giuseppe Martucci’s La canzone dei ricordi and Franz Schubert’s The "Great" Symphony No. 9 in C Major. The performance is in Italian with English subtitles.
