(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA)—David Kim, a world-renowned violinist and Concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra, will perform at the grand opening of Delaware County Community College’s newly renovated Large Auditorium at 3 p.m. this Sunday, December 2. A 2 p.m. reception will precede the performance.
WHAT: Performance by Violinist and Concertmaster David Kim
Named the Concertmaster of The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1999, Kim has performed with numerous orchestras around the world. He serves as an Artist in Residence at Eastern University and regularly presents master classes at various schools and institutions, including Juilliard, Yale, and the Korean National University of the Arts.
The performance repertoire includes Brahms’ Sonatensatz, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 1 in D major, Kreisler’s Liebesleid and Caprice Viennois, and Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy. Jeffrey DeVault, an instructor at the College, will accompany Kim on piano.
