(Delaware/Chester County) Are you ready to respond to a natural disaster, public health threat, or other emergencies? Learn what to do and how to do it at the free certificate courses in Emergency Preparedness and School Safety offered by Delaware County Community College (schedule below). The classes are offered at the Exton Campus and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit.
Educational institutions have a responsibility to students and staff to ensure that all precautions are taken to provide a safe environment. The basic components of prevention, preparedness, response and recovery must be addressed in all emergency plans for campus safety and security. It is critical that school personnel know how to react in an emergency.
These certificate courses offered by the College were developed to raise awareness and to provide basic information to school personnel as they begin or continue to build an effective emergency plan. It has been shown repeatedly that being prepared is the best way to deal with emergencies. Students are given a certificate of completion after each class.
