Wastewater Operator Certification Program Begins February 10

Delaware County Community College is offering a Wastewater Operator Certification Program at its Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA). Certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the program prepares entry-level operators for certification and employment. Don’t delay, register now for the upcoming session beginning February 10.
Wastewater Treatment Operators are essential in the treatment and transferring of water and wastewater. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median pay for Wastewater Operators is $44,100 and the field is projected to grow by 6 percent over the next decade.
Delaware County Community College’s program offers all of the coursework, hands-on training in labs, and module tests necessary to pass the licensing exam for DEP certification. The program is divided into two 90-hour sessions. Successful candidates must enroll for certification level 1 and 2.
The cost of the certification is $950 per semester. Students can save $150 by registering for both semesters at once (paying $1750 instead of $1900). A scholarship is available (based on need) and provided by the Eastern Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Operators Association. Please inquire when registering.
