Study Abroad in Jamaica Through Partnership with Arcadia University
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • December 11, 2013)—Those seeking a unique, cultural learning opportunity are invited to enroll in Delaware County Community College’s course on The History, Culture and Politics of the Caribbean: Jamaica which includes a trip to Jamaica from May 23 to 29, 2014. This study abroad opportunity is being offered in partnership with Arcadia University, a college that is consistently ranked first in the nation for study abroad.
Delaware County Community College students will visit Jamaica alongside Arcadia students and enjoy cultural experiences in Kingston, Montego Bay and Spanish Town. Excursions include a visit to the Bob Marley Museum, Dunn’s River Falls, the Erna Brodber Writing Retreat Compound and other sites. After returning from Jamaica, students will continue their course studies through the College’s Summer I session, which runs until July 2.
The trip costs $980, which includes roundtrip airfare, lodging, excursions and insurance. Meals are not included. Tuition for the course is also not included and costs $458 plus any required textbooks. A limited number of scholarships are available to cover tuition costs.
The deadline to apply is February 14, 2014. Applicants must submit a nonrefundable deposit of $250 along with an application and photocopy of their passport (passport must be valid for a minimum of six months beyond May 29). The remaining trip balance of $730 is due by March 14, 2014.
