DCCC Presents “Romeo and Juliet” Outdoors June 5 through 8
(Delaware and Chester Counties, Pa. - May 30, 2024)—On a hot summer night in Verona, teenagers Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet meet and fall instantly in love—and the two strive to escape an age-old vendetta between their powerful families. It is a timeless story that never disappoints. Delaware County Community College presents its spring student theatre production, William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” June 5 through 8 at 8 p.m. at the Marple Campus, 901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063.
Take a seat on the College’s sprawling lawn on a beautiful summer evening for a special outdoor theatre experience. The cast features students from both Delaware and Chester Counties: Melissa Morris, Richie Richardson, Javier Villagomez, Kevin Lara, DJ Truxler, Umani Padmore, Ikesseh Zarwee, Sean Summerfield, Gillian Keener, Peggy Oleynick, Anthony Abo-Harb, Brenna Lill, Sam Briggs, Adrian Bruce, Oniha Warren, David Scanlan, Josh Lindy and Patrick Gregson.
“Romeo and Juliet” is directed by Stephen Patrick Smith, associate professor of Drama. For tickets, visit dccc.edu/theatre. The assistant director is Sarah Stryker. Tickets are $15 general admission, and $10 for students (valid school ID required). Performances will take place weather permitting. Attendees are welcome to bring their own blanket, chairs and snacks, and accessible parking is available.
