College Offers Career Transitions Workshop
(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA • January 23, 2017)—Delaware County Community College will offer a Career Transitions Workshop, a 10-week learning and development program for anyone facing the uncertainty of the job market and considering a change in career. Beginning February 27, sessions will be held on Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Marple Campus (901 S. Media Line Road, Media, PA).
The Career Transitions Workshop is designed to assist the unemployed, underemployed, or unhappily employed. Participants will take the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory to assess career options and professional interests. By identifying motivations, priorities, strengths and marketable skills, participants create an individualized plan to move ahead proactively. Later sessions include one-to-one consultation with a workshop leader, as well as exploration of networking strategies and online tools such as LinkedIn.
The co-creators and leaders of the workshop are Professor Ruth Campbell and Carol Dougherty, both licensed professional counselors with national certifications in career counseling. They have extensive experience working with adults in career transition. According to Campbell, “workers need to have a stronger career strategy than ever before.” Learn why and how to cultivate your strategy by joining the Career Transitions Workshop.
The cost of the workshop, including the Myers-Briggs and Strong Interest Inventory tests, is $114 for residents of sponsoring school districts and $144 for those in non-sponsoring districts. Space is very limited and seats are already filling up on a first-come, first-served basis. Register now by calling the Career and Counseling Center at 610-359-5324.
