DCCC’s Sharon Hill Location to Close June 30, 2025 – Six Months Earlier Than Planned
Delaware and Chester Counties, PA - January 13, 2025)—For the past two decades, Delaware County Community College has offered academic college classes at its Southeast Center (2000 Elmwood Ave, Sharon Hill, PA 19079). On June 30, 2025, the Center will close its doors six months earlier than planned, as the College’s lease on the building could not be extended.
The Southeast Center in Sharon Hill was slated to remain open through the end of 2025, immediately prior to the January 2026 opening of the new Southeast Center at the site of the former Archbishop Prendergast High School (401 North Lansdowne Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026). Classes in Sharon Hill will instead end at the conclusion of the Spring 2025 semester.
Beginning with DCCC’s Summer I session (May 19 to June 26, 2025), courses that were scheduled to be held at the Sharon Hill location will instead be held at the College’s Upper Darby Center (1570 Garrett Road, Upper Darby Township, 19082). Free shuttle service from the Sharon Hill location to the Upper Darby Center and from the Upper Darby Center to the Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA, 19063) will continue through December 2025.
All current staff and faculty at the Southeast Center in Sharon Hill will be temporarily reassigned to the Upper Darby Center or the Marple Campus, prior to reassignment to the new Southeast Center in Drexel Hill.
“The College enjoyed 20 successful years in Sharon Hill, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve students there for so long,” said DCCC President Dr. Marta Yera Cronin. “Our excellent faculty and staff will welcome the Southeast Center students to the Upper Darby Center and ease their transition, and we look forward to the tremendous opportunities our students will gain with the opening of the new Southeast Center in Drexel Hill a year from now.”
