My name is Ann-Marie Smith. I am one of five full-time faculty members who teach Computing Science courses at Delaware County Community College (DCCC). I accepted the teaching position in the summer of 1999 because I found it is what I enjoy doing most. My job is incredibly rewarding, and I thoroughly enjoy the teaching and learning experience. The courses I teach most often include Introduction to Information Technology (CS 100), Introduction to Computer Science (CS 101), Multimedia Graphics and Design (IMM 110), Web Page Design & Development (IMM 120), Audio and Video for Multimedia (IMM 201), and Portfolio Development (CS 250). Prior to the full-time teaching position, I served as the College's Instructional Technology Specialist. In this position, I assisted faculty with integrating technology into their curriculum. In addition, I was one of two "web developers" at the College who designed and developed DCCC's original website. I received a B.A. in Communications and History from Muhlenberg College in 1992. I received a M.S. in Instructional Technology from Philadelphia University in 1996. I completed three courses at Widener University in the Doctoral Program in Higher Education. I received my Ed.D. degree in 2020 from Wilmington University's doctoral program that focuses on leadership and innovation in higher education. My research addressed infusing virtual reality into World Civilization courses at the community college level.
