GRANTS AVAILABLE:
Unemployed caregivers in Delaware County can apply for up to $1,000 in credits toward a child’s summer camp fees thanks to the Delaware County Council’s approval of the Delco Strong Summer Camp Solution. Applications for Delco Strong grants scholarships can be found at pacareerlinkdelco.org/summer-camp/.
If your child is staying all day with us, they are required to register for Lunch Bunch, which costs $30 for each week. Please request when you register. Campers must bring their own lunches. The cafeteria is not available.
Refunds will be offered if request is emailed to communityed@dccc.edu 10 days prior to the start date of your camp.

Babysitter Training with CPR & First Aid Certification
Develop skills that will help you become a responsible, knowledgeable babysitter. This course includes AHA Certification in child and infant CPR, child and infant first aid and child and infant water safety. New sitters will also learn to care and feed infants and toddlers, safe toys, diapering techniques, and how to prevent accidents and handle emergencies.

Cyber Spies
With the world’s increased reliance on digital data, cyber security is more important than ever! In this class you are all that stands between a group of international hackers launching cyber attacks and world peace. Through a series of challenges, students will learn to apply tools used by professional digital forensics teams to crack codes and use encryption. Working in teams you will collect clues, recover lost data, and explore the tools of the trade to become the next great cyber spy!

Drone Adventures
The Drones are here! Let the battles begin. In this hands-on, interactive class you will learn how to safely fly drone robots. Working in teams, you will be able to code your drone to compete in missions that will prepare you for the ultimate team challenge at the end of the week. UNREAL® Gaming Academy
Interested in a career in game design? Level up your tech skills with the Unreal Engine from Epic Games, the industry-grade software that built popular games like Fortnite and Rocket League. Learn how to use the engine’s innovative programming tools to craft player interactions and design your own scenes and levels with the built-in assets. Student projects are available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Advanced Robotics
In this class, create basic AI programs for robots using visual and text-based code. Utilize a variety of sensors that help your robot navigate and overcome daily class challenges. With your teammates, you will apply different coding concepts while using the scientific method to formulate, observe, experiment, test, and modify your robot. No prior experience is required.

This beginner game development course is designed to get elementary-aged students excited about technology through hands-on and engaging learning activities. A different project each week of KidCON, so take all three! The College has fantastic workforce facilities and we want to share them with campers! KidCON is an interactive camp where you become the carpenter. There will be a major emphasis on safety, and proper use of the tools used to make a take home project. You provide the safety goggles and we provide the rest.

Take all three weeks of LEGO's with a different project each week! In partnership with Snapology of Newtown Square, our LEGO Builders & Creators camps give kids ages 6-9 a chance to recreate some of their favorite characters, games and worlds in brick form. Throughout the week campers will complete various building challenges, work together with partners on projects and stretch their creativity, problem-solving and imagination muscles.

Beats and Jams: Digital Music Creators
Begin your rise to the top of the charts with digital music production! Just like today's top artists, you can design your own beats or remix a mashup of your favorite songs to become a digital composer and sound engineer. In this course, students will learn to produce digital music, record sound, make sound effects, and mix their own tracks. No prior music experience is necessary. Day in Court - Mock Trial
Play the roles of judge, defendant, plaintiff, witness, lawyer, bailiff, or juror in several mock trials. Learn how to make opening and closing statements, how to phrase objections, and how to question witnesses. Pull all your skills together at the end of the week as you participate in a final mock trial based on cases from past national and state-level Mock Trial competitions. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Virtual Reality: The Future is Now
Embark on an EPIC adventure in virtual reality! In this cutting-edge class, learn the foundations of VR design by creating your own virtual worlds, exploring simulated environments, crafting 3D experiences, and learning basic programming concepts. At the end of the week, take home your first cardboard VR headset to show friends and family the new worlds you created. VR projects can be viewed on a website or mobile device. Students do not need a mobile device to take the class, but will need access to a mobile device at home. VR projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Wickline Casting: Intro to Film & TV
This is Wickline Casting’s original course that started 28 years ago. Your child will work as cast and crew teams in this innovative cool camp. Kids are taught the basic levels of acting, directing, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen to allow realistic backgrounds. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Each day is different as they create fun projects; commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading and performance skills, working in teams and confidence-building. They will truly learn the basics of the biz. This camp is designed by casting director, Kathy Wickline, CSA (www.wicklinecasting.com) who holds over 10,000 casting credits in film, commercials and TV.
*After camp, all footage is sent to a professional editor. Parents will be emailed an edited digital keepsake. Allow up to 3 months editing.

Minecraft® Modders
Customize your own Minecraft world and mod the classic game in this one-of-a-kind class. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods. Students will create a wide variety of new elements, gameplay mechanics, and world-generating mods to change the way you play Minecraft. Projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Students must have the Java version of Minecraft to take this class. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Teach your kids the secrets of building financial wealth and security! In this course, you will learn the basics of investing in the stock market, the difference between assets and liabilities, the importance of diversification, and how to evaluate companies. You will also develop your own business plan and present your ideas to your peers to compete for their investments in a mock Shark Tank-style activity. Model United Nations
Become one of the 400,000 students around the world in Model United Nations! Assume the role of an ambassador and represent your country to solve current world issues. Throughout the week students will research a world problem, develop solutions, and negotiate consensus with their peers. This program teaches teens and tweens core skills such as research, writing, public speaking, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Model UN alumni have gone on to become Supreme Court justices, world leaders, lawyers, and business professionals. No prior experience is needed. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Make your LEGOs come to life! Bring in your favorite action figures or LEGOs and create a short film with your friends. Digital Photography
How do you see the world you in a more visually interesting way? We will be learning how to take photographs using visual themes, focusing on the observation of shapes, colors, camera angles and composition. Each day will have a specific theme in class, and we will shoot pictures based on the theme.
*Digital cameras will be available for campers to use, on campus only. Campers may bring their own cameras, but are responsible for them.

Updated! App Attack: Cloud Game Creators
Build game apps you can play everywhere and anywhere using a web-based development tool. Learn in-demand skills like programming events and coding controls for a touch screen or keyboard and mouse. Finish by personalizing levels and characters with your own design. Now you are ready to upload your games to the Black Rocket cloud arcade and play on any mobile device or computer. Games can easily be shared with friends and family!

Wickline Casting’s: Acting for The Camera
This camp is designed by local casting director, Kathy Wickline, CSA (www.wicklinecasting.com) who holds over 10,000 casting credits in film, commercials and TV. It is perfect for the aspiring young ‘actors’ in your household. It is here they will be taught real auditioning skills by working with scripts for commercials and film readings. Your child will work on how to personalize characters and follow direction, block for camera and read with their ‘co-stars’.
Voice over will also be introduced. Improvisation and ad-libbing (off the script) will be taught as a basis of making acting choices and trusting their instincts. A huge benefit of this camp is increasing memory, reading skills and confidence.
