Personal Introduction
I value a sense of community in my lectures, and I encourage my students to work with me, the college, and their peers. Because of this, my lectures contain a lot of interaction! Students should expect to be asked questions and to have time to think individually and with partners about the concepts we will cover in lecture. Students should also expect to spend a lot of time outside of lecture with practice problems and assigned reading, but if we work together to understand an idea, it will stay in your mind. Many of my classes use a “flipped classroom” modality. I have four cats, I love hiking and camping, and I love RPG games and sci-fi/fantasy books.
