(Delaware and Chester Counties, PA – February 26, 2025)—The Art Gallery at Delaware County Community College is hosting a special group exhibition celebrating the 15th anniversary of the College’s Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree program in the Art Gallery, located in Room 2305 in the Academic Building on the College’s Marple Campus (901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063). The exhibit, “15 Years of AFA,” will be on view from March 3 to April 11, and open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (The College is closed March 10-14.)

The exhibition highlights 15 distinguished alumni of the program and their careers in graphic design, photography, and studio art. Featuring sculpture, painting, photography, graphic design, and video installations, the exhibition showcases the professional trajectories of DCCC AFA alumni while also inviting them to reflect upon the role of the program in their artistic development.

There will be a special exhibition celebration and reception including a panel discussion featuring DCCC AFA alumni Elijah Dreuitt (photography), Michelle Hua (graphic design) and Jermaine Ollivierre (studio art) on Thursday, March 27 at 4 p.m. in the Large Auditorium, Academic Building and on Zoom. Nationally, the College was among the early adopters of the Associate in Fine Arts degree, which prepares students to either transfer to Bachelor of Fine Arts programs or enter the workforce. DCCC AFA graduates have cultivated careers at leading art centers and worked with national brands, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Delaware Contemporary Museum, the New York Times, Gentlemen’s Quarterly, Stoney Clover Lane, Comcast, Banana Republic and Zaxby.

“15 Years of AFA” explores each artist’s roots at the College through juxtapositions of their recent artwork alongside examples of their exceptional student work, the majority of which were acquired as Purchase Awards by the College through the generosity of the DCCC Educational Foundation and Office of Athletics & Campus Engagement.

The Art Gallery at DCCC hosts up to seven visual art exhibitions each year, showcasing the work of students as well as professional artists of national and international reputation. In addition to exhibitions, artists are periodically invited to hold lectures, offer collaborative projects and conduct workshops for the College community and the public.
