(Media,
PA) Delaware County Community College’s BUS246
– the Teamwork class – will host the “Best of Delaware County Community
College Pizza Tasting.” The event will be held in the Founder’s Hall cafeteria at the
Marple Campus on November 23, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
BUS246 –
the Teamwork class – created this project to raise money during this
semester. The students brainstormed and
came up with the Pizza Project. Who
doesn’t like fresh-baked pizza? And what
makes it better is that the proceeds from the Pizza Project will help support
students of Delaware County Community College.
The money
raised will benefit the Dream Keeper’s Foundation. The Foundation supports Delaware County
Community College students who may be facing a financial hardship while enrolled.
A part of the money raised will also help fund a new fence for the College’s
Phantoms’ baseball team.
Students,
faculty and staff can participate in the voting process by donating five
dollars. They will sample the six
different traditional pizzas – tomato and cheese. The students can vote on their favorite. All participants and contributors will
receive acknowledgement certificates and gratification knowing proceeds benefit
the students. The winning pizza shop receives a framed flyer and a photo of the
check presentation. They will walk away
as the victors of the “Best of Delaware County Community College Pizza Tasting
Contest.”
The pizza is
being donated by local pizza shops Tommy’s Original Pizza – Newtown Square,
Hoopty’s Pizza & Pasta – Havertown, Fresco’s Pizza & Grill – Newtown
Square, Massimo’s Pizza – Garnet Valley, Domino’s Pizza – Ridley Park, and the
College’s own Cafeteria. Other
contributors for the Pizza Project are Zac’s Hamburgers, Swiss Farms and
Barksdale Design.
The
Teamwork group would like to thank all the students in advance for their
contributions as well as thanking all the businesses in the community for their
generous donations to make our Pizza Project contest a success.
