Introducing Our New Music Industry Certificate Program!
Are you passionate about music? Interested in pursuing a career in the music industry? Delaware County Community College is thrilled to announce our brand-new Music Industry Certificate program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the dynamic world of music.
Students will analyze current practices and trends in the Music Industry and learn from experiential projects that will develop their technical, entrepreneurial and artistic skills. Students who complete the Music Industry Certificate will be prepared for entry level positions, music marketing, music publishing, recording studios and music production companies. - Music Business: Explore copyright law, music publishing, marketing, and artist management.
- Music Technology: Learn recording techniques, audio production software, and DAW studio operations.

- Music Theory: Deepen your understanding of musical structure, harmony, and composition.
Program Entry Requirements:
This certificate is open to all students regardless of past musical experience. Students are required to take placement exams at the time of admission. Students who are identified as needing developmental course work must satisfactorily complete the appropriate English and mathematics courses to complete the certificate. A music placement exam, which allows students to complete MUS 101: Music Fundamentals and/or MUS 125: Piano I by examination, is also available for students already possessing an introductory understanding of music theory and/or a keyboard performance background.
