  • Prerequisite courses are required to be completed with a grade of “C” or above.
  • Non-science prerequisite credit can be earned through standardized tests such as AP, IB, and CLEP.

*The “Other Sciences w/ Lab” section provides examples of science courses with laboratories (4 credits each) that would satisfy the prerequisite credits. Of the “Other Science w/ Lab” options, Microbiology, Molecular Bio, Cell Bio, Immunology, and Genetics courses must be completed within 10 years of enrollment to Jefferson. Additional courses may be considered to satisfy these requirements. Please contact Jefferson with any questions.
**Acceptable elective courses are theory-based—not performance-based—coursework. Jefferson will not accept coursework that is remedial or review in nature, or courses taken as Pass/Fail. Coursework may include Arts, Humanities, Social Science, Foreign Languages, Science, Business, Math and History.
“*** Students who have earned an Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology/Technician from a NAACLS accredited program do not need to meet the individual course by course prerequisites list above. The conferred associate degree is equivalent to the listed prerequisites. Military experience related to Medical Laboratory Technology/Technician will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
