We offer a wide range of intercollegiate sports, recreational activities, and fitness opportunities for students.
Intercollegiate Athletics
To compete in any of intercollegiate sports teams, students must be enrolled full-time (bearing 12 credits), have proof of health insurance, and be able to have a doctor complete a physical. For more information about eligibility, please visit www.dcccphantoms.com.
Open Play Sports & Recreational Activities
Want to be active in a social, friendly environment? We offer open play/pick up sports opportunities throughout the year. Sports may include volleyball, basketball, dodge ball, flag football, etc. For more information about what sports are currently offered, please email athleticsdept@dccc.edu.
Students may also come to the ACE Center, Room 1180 of the Academic Building on Marple Campus to borrow sports equipment such as basketballs, volleyballs, tennis rackets & tennis balls, badminton rackets and birdies, etc. and play sports on campus using our outdoor courts or aerobics room facilities at their leisure during posted hours of operation. To borrow equipment, students will need to exchange their student ID and return all equipment during posted business hours.
Fitness Center
At Delaware County Community College, we believe that fitness provides a great outlet for our students. That’s why we offer you opportunities to participate in fitness and recreational activities, both on campus and in the community.
On campus
The STEM Center at Marple Campus is home to a Fitness Center and aerobics studio. This facility, opened in 2010, includes cardio and weight-training equipment as well as an aerobic studio for group fitness classes. The Wellness Program takes a holistic approach to health education by promoting, and providing wellness resources to faculty, staff and students in our campus community. Temporary Medical Parking
If you have a temporary injury or illness that makes it difficult to walk a long distance from parking lots, the Wellness Center and Campus Safety offices can provide you with a temporary Medical Parking Permit. These permits are available for eight-week periods, with the possibility of an extension, if needed. To be eligible, you must complete an application, provide a copy of your Driver’s License and a note from your doctor indicating your injury/illness. Delaware County Community College is 100 percent tobacco free. The Tobacco-Free Campus Policy is part of a commitment to create a healthy and sustainable environment for the entire College community. It is intended to eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke, provide an environment supportive of tobacco-free lifestyles and eliminate the environmental impact of cigarette litter. The policy applies to all faculty, staff, students and visitors (including contractors and their employees).
