Learning Commons

The Learning Commons serves as a center of learning resources for students, faculty and staff in a dynamic space that supports the College’s commitment to student success.

This vibrant facility offers a student-centered environment that provides access to many academic resources and encourages opportunities for collaborative learning. Academic support services found in the Learning Commons include Library Services and Writing and Tutoring Services. The Learning Commons also offers a wide variety of technology including portable and assistive technologies. Students can also use quiet and collaborative study spaces (with whiteboards and computer display screens) and purchase items at a coffee bar.
All of the services are available to active students, are supported by technology, and may be accessed on a walk-in basis or by appointment.

On-campus spaces for attending synchronous online classes

If you need to connect to your online synchronous class while on the Marple Campus, below are some spaces where you might sit.

These are common areas so if you need to speak during class, make sure to bring a headset.

Learning Commons, Marple Campus, Founders Hall, Fourth Floor: Left-side computer area (computer stations are for listening only); Library classroom (computer stations are for listening only; available only when not previously booked); Booths in the tutoring area.

STEM Building, Marple Campus: First Floor (computer area) and seating by the windows; quiet study areas on all other floors.

Academic Building, Marple Campus: Area outside of the Art Gallery (2318); Lower Café Area (couches and chairs); Area outside of room 3310.
