Upcoming Exhibitions

Brett Treadwell

Dimensions: Jaime Treadwell

October 27–December 5, 2025

The Art Gallery at Delaware County Community College is pleased to present Dimensions: Jaime Brett Treadwell as its annual contemporary exhibition. Dimensions celebrates the ambiguity of Treadwell’s painting practice, which immerses viewers in worlds that exploit the logical tensions between two- and three-dimensional spaces. Pairing optical illusions with abstraction, Treadwell’s paintings are portals to colorful, futuristic worlds that blend three-dimensionality with geometric abstraction. Dimensions traces the development of these themes over the last decade within more than thirty oil-on-wood panels. Beginning in 2014, Treadwell abandoned the figurative strategies of his early career to develop an alternative aesthetic rooted in the tenets of Op Art. The resulting paintings pair meticulously illusionistic brushwork with abstract subject matters that evoke digital graphics, space-age landscapes, and 1980s futurism. Pacing viewers chronologically through this development, the exhibition culminates in Treadwell’s newest body of paintings, which depict imaginary sculptures inhabiting fantastical gallery spaces.
